Homes on a high street that has waited for them.
The site sits on Brighton Road in Surbiton, in the Royal Borough of Kingston — one of the most persistently undersupplied housing boroughs in London. The scheme replaces a run of low-grade commercial frontage with two buildings of up to four storeys arranged around a landscaped residential courtyard.
The mix runs from one-bedroom apartments to six three-bedroom townhouses, with four wheelchair-accessible homes, 70 cycle spaces and air-source heat pumps throughout. The buildings stay under 18 metres, and the top floor steps back behind a green roof to hold the street scale.
The full application was submitted in November 2023 and is pending determination. The design is by Mountford Pigott LLP, the practice behind much of Yeats's residential work in south-west London.
Well-located residential land with a deliverable consent remains the scarcest asset in UK real estate.
